National Sunglasses Day: How To Thrive Beyond The Shade

Happy National Sunglasses Day! I love me a good pair of bomb sunnies as you all know. I have a problem putting them down. Today instead of giving you a rundown of must-have summer shades or my favorite sunnies, I decided to put a little flip on "shade." We've all seen the jokes about wearing sunglasses to block the haters out because we all know "they" exist. But, sometimes we let them get too much attention and we care too much about what others think. Here's my tips on thriving beyond the constant shade:

1. Focus on you and only you

This one is pretty obvious. When you're focused on you, you don't have time to worry about who is hating. Do you and the right people will feel it. Point blank period. When you show people you care you've automatically stooped to their level, we're trying to level up so that means you're going backwards.

2. Give off the energy you wish to receive

Be real with yourself. We must exude the same energy into the world that we wish to take in. Don't walk around looking down on someone else and then turn around and not understand why you're being confronted with so much negativity. It's you sis, work on your energy and your being first.

3. Feel the love

Too often we acknowledge the haters so much that we're blinded to all the love and support. Thank those who support you, love on those who always show up and you'll realize what REALLY matters.

4. Know your circle

When you accomplish something new or are working on something big you're itching to tell everyone in your circle— I get it. However, everyone in your circle may not be of your best interests to tell. I'm big on energy, and I believe when negative energy hits something it can absolutely affect it. So hold your success close and keep it surrounded by love and positivity, people who are genuinely happy for you.

5. Be your biggest fan

We must stop seeking validation from others, get right with yourself first! If we aren't our biggest fans why would we expect others to be? A lot of times we let negative thoughts affect our path because we care too much about what other people think, but if you thoroughly believe and you clap for yourself at all times, you'll be too busy winning to even care who doesn't agree with something you're doing. Whether it's family, friends, a boyfriend, or girlfriend— you be your biggest fan and they'll have no choice but to follow.

There's always going to be someone who may try to put you down in your journey, but the truth is you hold the key to your happiness. So thrive baby, thrive!! Beyond that shade.

P.S. Yes I'm wearing the same shades in every photo except the last and I am wearing them today because they're my faves and I don't plan to let them go.

I always joke about letting the haters motivate you. Everybody has that in their life, people who doubt them or make them feel less than they are. It just takes faith and belief in yourself, and you’ve got to dig deep into that. That has to come from you - nobody’s going to give you that.
