Last week was my final homecoming as an undergrad, and for those of you who don't know, an HBCU homecoming is a fashion show from the first to the last day. Everyday of my life is a fashion show, so it was nothing new for me. But, I did have to bring a little statement piece out. This cape bodysuit had to be the most comfortable top I've wore all season — not only was it comfortable, but it was also breezy for the summer weather that has been trying to sneak into fall. I'm all about making statements and this cape got the job done.
I paired it with my high-waist faux leather skirt from Target (Yes, Target!). I saw this skirt and had to have it in every color. In the midst of seeing the same outfits over and over during homecoming I wanted to stand out, and I knew this skirt would complement the bodysuit perfectly. The split in the front of the skirt adds just enough sexiness to the look while still allowing me to achieve a classy look. Accessorizing this look was the most exciting part because I knew accessories would make the look. I call these shades my Lil' Kim shades because I feel like her when I put them on. She's my alter ego, by the way. Between these shades and my cape blowing in the wind while I walked I felt complete.
Safe to say this has been one of my favorite looks yet. Now I'm patiently waiting for the summer to completely go away so I can continue to prosper in my fall looks.
