It's homecoming season at my school and everywhere I turn, I see the same unoriginal outfits — it's a bit annoying. I wanted to go with a look that wasn't my typical style for early in the homecoming week. I needed something that would turn heads multiple times and I knew this metallic cropped jacket was the piece to do just that. With this look, I wanted to prove that you can shop where everyone else shops, but that doesn't mean you have to purchase the same products. If you do purchase the same products, don't wear them the same as everyone else.
I found this jacket this in June and held on to it for the right day. What I love most about it is that I didn't have to do much with this outfit because it did the talking. A basic midi skirt and peep-toe booties was all I needed. Again, not a typical outfit for me to wear, but why not change it up every now and then? I had to still tie in this statement piece with my signature pencil skirt — I love a good curve-hugging skirt.
This look can be pulled off, when worn right, for a sporty chic look with minimal accessories. I paired the rose gold statement piece with my everyday rose gold accessories and these fun sunglasses. And, I can't forget my new blunt cut.
I had to switch it up for the season. I can't wait to have fun with using my hair as an accessory with my looks.
This fall, I challenge you to step out of your fashion comfort zone and switch it up —whether that's wearing an outgoing piece like this or wearing something you thought you could never wear. Always switch it up, keep 'em thinking & looking!
